Operation Demi
This was a great idea by Naty. This is her Guest post on the site detailing a plan to kickstart more interest into Alexz’s campaign. We’re looking for a large group of motivated people on Twitter Fridays and Saturdays from 6-10pm Eastern Time to help with this and create some Retweets. Complete details are below:
Hey guys! I was thinking that in order to help Alexz double her set goal of $30k (or even more than that) on her Kickstarter campaign and finally get her to tour overseas, we need to come together as a fandom again. I know that most of us already donated what we could or are still waiting to see how much we can give by the time the campaign comes to its end. But we need to get the word out so other people who might recognize her or just discover her for the first time can help too.
So, I thought maybe we should seek the help from “allies” that have helped spread Alexz’s music before. The main idea is to get the attention of Demi Lovato, who has stated before that Alexz was an inspiration for her from the first days of her career. She also happens to have over 5 million followers and it’d be amazing what a simple RT from her with the Kickstarted page might do.
We can also try to have other allies tweet their followers the link. Well known people that has worked with her and/or expressed an interest in her music before, such as Demo Castellon or Nelly Furtado. Other people who might like Alexz’s music and idea once they hear it too. You can also tweet your favorite music blogs or magazines.
It will be difficult to get all these people’s attention though, but the chances increase if we tweet at the same time. Based on the times Demi tweets (since she would be the major “target”), Robby and I decided that it’s best to do this on weekends and between 6-10pm EST.We should try this out this Saturday, are you guys in?
The main goals are:
1) To get Demi/other-famous-people click the link, watch the video and know what the campaign is about.
2) To get them RT the link so all of their followers can find out about it.Having that in mind, here are some samples of what those tweets should look like:

The intention is to get her help, not spam her mentions, so we shouldn’t just copy those but that was just to give you some examples. Also, I’m not a Demi fan myself but I appreciate what she has done to spread the Alexz’s music so far. If some of you are actual fans maybe there’s something else you’d wanna tell her in your tweets.

We get the furthest when we work as a team, and we kind of are one so, Alexz fam, let’s get Alexz on that international tour!
We know Demi Lovato is probably the best person to get a Retweet from. Other people we should consider are Rickie Lee Jones, Nelly Furtado, Demo Castellon, Olivia Newton-John, and other of Alexz’s inspirations or people she’s worked with.
